The Challenge
The shower is an essential product ensuring wellbeing, hygiene and a revitalizing start to the day, it’s a product everyone should have access to use with confidence. revo is a stylish, versatile and steadying handrail and storage solution. It was designed to address the changing demographics of our times and the resulting needs; people are living longer; co-habitation of multiple generations is commonplace, whether for short visits or long-term; smaller homes without baths are on the rise. A shower that works for everyone without taking away visually from often meticulously designed spaces, addresses an important need. Merlyn wanted to successfully launch this new product through their website and partnered with The Smart Group to visually portray its versatility. The over-arching goal was to advertise a highly functional yet desirable product that enhances any space it’s in.
The Solution
To really showcase what an amazing product revo is, The Smart Group produced a video that would sit on the Merlyn website and social meda. The Smart Group managed everything from styling of the set to copywriting and casting. The Merlyn team built a bathroom set for the shoot, and The Smart Group styled the scene to compliment the content required. It was important for us to cast talent that echoed the multi-generational appeal of Revo. In the video, we capture a young girl who is learning to shower for the first time. Through the encouragement of her mother, the comfort of her small teddy bear, and the discreet support of Revo, we see her grow confident in showering. The mother in the video is pregnant and this again echoes the multi-generational appeal of the product as we see her shower after her daughter. In the video, we also see grandparents and an injured sports player.
As well as a video, photographs were taken of the product and the actors. These high quality photos were utilised for many advertisements, web pages, and also for a brochure designed by The Smart Group. To highlight the versatility of the product, we captured revo in a number of different states. The adjustable height means this versatile system has been engineered to suit people of all sizes. The modular containers can sit on the dedicated arm or on the handrail to perfectly suit peoples’ needs. Multi configurations allow users to design their shower storage to work the way they want it to.
The Smart Group brought an outline of an idea to a professional and impactful final production. The final cut hit all of our objectives and was on message for our brand. From styling to casting, every detail chosen by the creative team led to this projects’ success.

Merlyn went on to win a number of awards for the design of this product and all entries were accompanied by the photos and video content The Smart Group created.
