About The Customer
Launched in 2019, Spellings for Me quickly became a trusted spelling programme across Irish schools. With Version 2.0 and a debut at the 2024 BETT Education Trade Show, the programme expanded into the UK and beyond. The Challenge
Spellings For Me approached The Smart Group with a basic one-page website that lacked engagement and depth. The site relied heavily on generic stock illustrations and offered minimal content, resulting in a flat user experience. Our challenge was to transform the site into a vibrant, informative platform, one that would resonate with children, parents, and teachers alike. We set out to inject personality, enrich the content, and create a guided user journey that encourages exploration and sign-ups.




The Solution
We reimagined the Spellings For Me brand identity from the ground up. While retaining the core colour palette from the original logo, we replaced the website’s outdated sky-themed background with a clean, modern white canvas, creating space for vibrant colour blocks that inject playful energy throughout the site.
These colours were also used to develop a series of custom illustrations featuring character designs made from letterforms, reinforcing the educational theme in a fun and engaging way. To add warmth and authenticity, we introduced joyful photography of children and families actively learning. We then layered letter shapes into these images, reinforcing the brand and bringing the learning experience to life.
For the website redesign, we followed best practices to ensure a seamless and user-friendly experience. The site structure was strategically designed to optimise lead generation, guiding users through clear conversion paths toward key actions like sign-ups and free trials—ultimately driving measurable results for the client.
